Golden Sol’s Story
ABOUT GOLDEN SOL
How it started...
Hi, my name is Aaron Vincent Licón,
and I’m the founder of Golden Sol. When I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2017, there was no desire to start my own business.
That nudging “want” to do more was inspired by the community of volunteers that makes up Water Drop LA. They are a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, founded in the summer of 2020, whose goal is to combat water insecurity in communities across Southern California.
A friend I'd met while at school,
who is also one of the organization’s co-founding members, reached out during their first few weeks and told me about the great work they were doing. It didn’t take much convincing for me to want to start helping out.
Every Sunday since, community members gather to load their cars and distribute cases of water and other resources to unhoused members of the community. During the early months there was a noticeably spirited effort across social media to support mutual aid groups, which helped the organization’s momentum and funding for months and months to come. Public enthusiasm had fluctuated following the early campaign, and during one of the downturns, I had wondered what that could mean for the organization.
During the early months of 2022,
and after a year of consideration, I finally acted on that “want” to do more and decided to start a company that could assist Water Drop LA in a tangible manner through its services, while also contributing a portion of its proceeds directly to the organization. This is and always was the underlying goal of Golden Sol: to ensure that Water Drop LA may always be in operation for as long as there is a need for it to be in operation. Please take some time to learn more about their organization.

GOLDEN SOL’S VALUES
Committed to
Community
We are committed to building a community focused business. Golden Sol was brought about because of community based actions, and because of that, we will always be looking for opportunities to give back to the community by volunteering our time and services.
Respect
We conduct all our business with respect. In order to create and sustain the community we are hoping for, this is required. Operating in a respectful manner means: driving and operating equipment professionally in order to maintain a safe environment, and being responsive & responsible with all forms of communication to promote engagement.
Empathy
Having empathy allows Golden Sol to grow and operate beyond a typical business. This is the foundation upon which the business was built. Through our efforts, we hope to positively impact those who may not have the same opportunities to do so themselves, in order to create a better tomorrow.
GOLDEN SOL’S COMMITMENT
To Always Move Forward
We acknowledge that some of the equipment used in our day-to-day business practices at Golden Sol may have a negative impact on our environment.
We aim to investigate and implement cleaner methods for our business practices regarding carbon emissions as we grow as a company.
We pledge to offset a portion of our environmental impact with regular contributions to local non-profit organizations committed to making a positive impact in the community.
